BMW Ireland hosted a preview of the new 2019 BMW 3 Series in Dublin today.
This is the seventh generation of the iconic 3 Series, which first went on sale back in 1975. Some of the headline changes for the 2019 BMW 3 Series are revised proportions, wider track, longer wheelbase, reduced weight and drag.
The new 3 Series was five years in development. BMW says that the focus for this new generation of 3 Series has been sportiness, innovation and design. Styling is more of an evolution but inside there is a new interior with more modern in-car technology and assistance systems. The new BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is featured for the first time on the new 3 Series.
The 2019 BMW 3 Series will officially arrive in Ireland in March, priced from €43,770. The new car will be available in three trim levels: SE, Sport and M Sport.
The entry level SE model features 17″ alloys, Extended LED headlights with cornering light and eyebrow indicators, BMW Light Carpet, interior Ambient Lighting with up to 11 colour settings, reversing camera and latest generation reversing assistant, electric folding rear view mirrors, three-zone air conditioning and enhanced acoustic glazing. There’s also a leather Sport steering wheel and BMW Live Cockpit plus, with 8.8-inch central instrument cluster.
Models available at launch will include the 318d, 320d and 330i.
The 3 Series saloon will feature a new six-speed manual gearbox and the eight-speed Steptronic transmission. The BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive system will also be available for the new BMW 320d at launch.
A new BMW 330e plug-in hybrid will join the range in July.
