The BMW 5 Series Touring will arrive in Ireland in June, priced from €56,590.
Four engines will be available from launch, while the BMW xDrive intelligent all wheel drive system will be fitted in two models. Additional rear wheel drive and all wheel drive models will join the line-up later.
The new BMW 5 Series Touring is 36mm longer than the outgoing model, 8mm wider and 10mm taller. The wheelbase has been extended by 7mm.
Visually, all models have twin exhaust pipes, either circular or quadrilateral depending on engine and trim.
The boot capacity is 570 litres with the seats up (an increase of 10 litres) and 1,700 litres with the seats down, 30 litres more than in its predecessor.
Engines at launch for the 5 Series Touring will include the 2.0-litre diesel with 190hp (520d), 3.0-litre straight six diesel with 265hp (530d), 2.0-litre four cylinder petrol with 252hp (530i) and a 3.0-litre six-cylinder in-line petrol with 340hp (540i xDrive).
The eight-speed automatic gearbox is fitted as standard on all models.
Standard equipment for the new BMW 5 Series Touring includes Collision Warning and Pedestrian Warning with City Braking function, and also Cruise Control with Braking function.
