The new Opel Mokka X will arrive in Ireland in October, with pricing from €21,495 to €31,745.

The new car replaces the Mokka crossover introduced in 2012, and will debut a new interior and exterior design, and a refreshed engine line-up.  The new Mokka X will be the first model to introduce the “X” segment identifier for future Opel SUV and crossover vehicles.

The styling of the Mokka X is more in line with the rest of the Opel range including a wing-shaped horizontal front grille and sharp double-wing signature of the LED daytime running lights. At the rear is another double wing signature highlighted in the tail lamps, with LED technology an option. New colours such as ‘Amber Orange’ and ‘Lava Red’ will also be available.

On the inside, the Opel Mokka X has a completely new dashboard inspired by the new Astra. The centre console features a seven-inch or an eight-inch touchscreen of the new generation Intellilink infotainment, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone compatibility. Opel OnStar is also available for peace of mind while driving.

The new Mokka X will also introduce LED Adaptive Forward Lighting headlamps, which will replace the old BiXenon AFL system. The new AFL LED system adapts the headlights’ lighting patterns automatically to the driving situation so that the best possible light performance is given without dazzling other road users.

Power will come from an entry level 1.6-litre (115hp) petrol, a new 1.4-litre (152hp) turbo petrol and the 1.6-litre (136hp) diesel, with three trim levels at launch (S, SC and Elite). Petrols will start from €21,495, with diesels starting at €26,295.

An all wheel drive version of the new Opel Mokka X will be available featuring a clever system that will reduce fuel consumption on these models. When the road surface is dry, the front wheels drive the vehicle forward (except when starting when the car is in AWD) to keep fuel consumption low. Depending on the road conditions, the car automatically switches from 100% front-wheel drive on dry road surfaces to a maximum torque distribution of 50% on the front- and rear- axle, for example, when roads are covered in water.

AWD models will be available from €25,795.
