Kia’s first ever D-segment estate car, the new Kia Optima SW (Sportswagon), has just gone on sale in Ireland.
The new estate based on the Kia Optima saloon will only be available in one trim level here, EX, but standard equipment is high including 18″ alloys, auto lights and wipers, Super Vision Cluster with 4.3″ Colour LCD and trip computer, 7” Sat Nav with Tom Tom WiFi services, leather wrapped steering wheel, four electric windows, dual zone climate control, reversing camera, Android Auto, auto cruise control, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition.
Boot capacity in the Optima SW is 552 litres, which is up from 510 litres in the saloon, but the shape of the boot and access makes the boot in the SW more practical. There are also underfloor trays, and space expands to 1,686 litres when the rear seats are folded down.
Like the saloon, power comes from a 1.7-litre diesel producing 141hp, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. CO2 emissions are 113g per km and the Optima SW will return up to 64mpg on a combined cycle.
The new Kia Optima SW has a list price of €29,950, while the saloon range starts at €27,949.
