Peugeot Ireland has announced pricing for the new Peugeot 2008 SUV, with the first models arriving in dealers this month.

The new Peugeot 2008 range will kick off at €23,900 for an entry level 1.2-litre Puretech petrol engine model in Active trim. The diesel range starts from €25,900 for the Active 1.5 BlueHDi 100bhp model.

Diesel models are arriving in dealers this month with petrol models expected in March. We will have to wait until April before pricing for the electric Peugeot ‘e-2008’ SUV is released corresponding with this model’s arrival in Ireland.

This is an all-new version of Peugeot’s popular compact crossover that was first launched in Ireland and Europe in 2013. It’s the follow-up to the all-new Peugeot 208 supermini that launched here in January.

The new 2008 is longer and wider than its predecessor with a maximum boot capacity of 1,467 litres. The battery in the e-2008 is positioned under the floor, so there’s no compromise to space.

There’s a choice of four PureTech petrol engines to include a 1.2 PureTech 100bhp 6-speed manual, a 1.2 PureTech 130bhp 6-speed manual, a 1.2 PureTech 130bhp 8-speed automatic and a 1.2 PureTech 155bhp 8-speed automatic.

The diesel offering is a 1.5 BlueHDi 100bhp 6-speed manual.

Des Cannon, Managing Director at Gowan Distributors, said:

“The stunning all-new 2008 SUV has real road presence and I have full confidence it will gain new custom, even in its very competitive B SUV segment. Our philosophy of offering customers the option to choose the model, then choose the powertrain – petrol, diesel or electric – without compromising on space, technology, looks or driving sensations, is striking a chord with customers. We strongly believe this approach allows customers to opt for the powertrain that best suits their exact needs.”
