The Renault Mégane has been updated for 2020 and will feature a plug-in hybrid for the first time!

The headlamps, tail lights and fog lights are now all LED with dynamic indicators at the rear for the first time.There’s a new front bumper as well as a new nose and lower grille, incorporating chrome trim on certain derivatives. The new fog-light surrounds have chrome trim and air deflectors at the front of the wheel arches for improved aerodynamics. The design of the wings has also been changed and they also feature door-handle lighting. New 16- and 18-inch wheels are also available as an option. New colours include Solar Copper, Baltic Grey and Highland Grey.

The 2020 Renault Mégane will have a revamped and modernised interior. There’s a new 9.3-inch screen for the multimedia system and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. Equipped with new driver-assistance systems for the safety and comfort of all passengers, customers can choose the optional Highway & Traffic Jam Companion, a Level 2 autonomous system that ensures comfort and peace of mind while driving.

A new R.S. Line trim level is introduced for the Mégane in 2020 and replaces the previous GT Line trim. The new Mégane R.S. Line features the F1 blade, the iconic signature of R.S. models. There’s also a honeycomb front-end grille and special 17-inch or optional 18-inch alloy wheels. The tail is more muscular, with two exhaust tail pipes on the hatchback and one chrome tail pipe on the Mégane Estate. Inside there are sport seats with additional lateral support, carbon-look inserts, a sporty perforated leather steering wheel stamped with the double R.S diamond and a sporty aluminium pedal unit.

The Mégane is available as a hatchback, estate, saloon and high performance Megane R.S. 280 and Trophy versions. Petrol and diesel engines feature and now for the first time a 1.6-litre ‘E-TECH’ Mégane plug-in hybrid with 160 hp. It will be available initially on the Mégane Sport Tourer, and later offered on the hatchback version. It has an electric range of 48 km (WLTP).

In petrol, the 2020 Mégane still offers the 1.3 TCe turbo petrol engine with 140hp with a six-speed manual transmission or dual-clutch seven-speed EDC automatic transmission.

In diesel, the updated Mégane offers two versions of the Blue dCi 115 engine and is available with a six-speed manual transmission or a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission.

In Ireland the 2020 Renault Mégane range goes on sale from July 2020 for the 202 registration plate and pricing will be confirmed closer to launch.
