Leapmotor has marked its official arrival in the Irish market at a press event in Gowan Auto, Leapmotor’s Irish importer.
Leapmotor Ireland has already appointed four new dealers here, with a total of eight expected before the end of the year.
The Chinese car brand’s first models to launch here are the T03 electric city car and the C10 large family SUV, the latter available as both a full battery electric vehicle and a range extended electric vehicle comprising a battery and 1.5-litre petrol engine.
The brand’s focus is on offering high levels of standard equipment and value for money. All new Leapmotor cars will come with a 6-year, unlimited mileage warranty and 8-year battery warranty on electric models.
First to land on dealer forecourts this week will be the Leapmotor T03 priced from €18,995 with range up to 265 kilometres (WLTP), and the C10 electric from €38,995 with up to 420 kilometre range (WLTP) and the C10 REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) from €45,420 with combined 975 kilometre range.
The Leapmotor C10 REEV runs exclusively on electric power, with a 1.5-litre petrol engine functioning as a generator to recharge the battery when required.
Unlike plug-in hybrids or self-charging hybrids, the engine never drives the wheels, for smooth performance and up to an impressive 145 kilometres of electric driving alone.
Stephen McGrath, Brand Manager at Leapmotor Ireland, said:
“Leapmotor, Ireland’s newest car brand, is committed to delivering best-in-class specification and technology as standard across its range, making the switch to EVs more accessible and rewarding for Irish drivers throughout the country. Now, with our substantial 6-year/unlimited mileage peace of mind warranty offering, we invite customers to “Take The Leap” and experience the future of motoring today.”
More models are expected including the B10 compact SUV from November and the B05 hatchback in 2026.
By the end of 2027, a further two models will arrive in Ireland to further elevate the comprehensive model line-up.
Since being appointed National Importer in May 2025, Gowan Auto has appointed four dealers: Joe Norris Motors (Navan, Co. Meath); Dan Seaman Motors (Forge Hill, Co. Cork); Greenhall Motors (Buttevant, Co. Cork); Kenny Galway (Tuam Road, Galway).
Further dealer announcements will follow in the coming weeks, with a total of eight expected before the end of the year.
Gowan Auto is already the exclusive importer and distributor of Stellantis brands in Ireland including Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Jeep, Opel, and Peugeot, together with Honda.
