An updated Skoda Octavia will go on sale in Ireland in early 2017 with a newly designed front and rear, new driver assistance systems, infotainment and connectivity, as well as new equipment.

The lines of the new Skoda Octavia have been further streamlined, especially at the front. The headlights are now split and feature full-LED technology.

Interior space remains one of the largest in the class with the hatch retaining boot space of 590 litres and 610 litres in the Combi estate. There is an optional electric tailgate for the Octavia estate.

The revision has brought new infotainment systems to the Skoda Octavia. All three systems – Bolero, Amundsen and Columbus – now come with a touchscreen. The Columbus now has a full 9.2-inch display with a WLAN hotspot.

New equipment on the 2017 Skoda Octavia includes the trailer assistant that will take over the steering when the vehicle is slowly reversing, Front Assist with pedestrian protection, Blind Spot Detection and Rear Traffic Alert as well as an optimised automatic parking feature.

Optional Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) allows the driver to regulate the steering and damping characteristics in the Comfort, Normal and Sport modes.

New ‘Simply Clever’ features have also been added: a customisable key, allowing multiple users to save their own vehicle settings, as well as a heated steering wheel, bottle holders which facilitate the opening of bottles, and the estate version features a removable torch in the boot.

Engines include the 1.0 TSI 115hp, 1.4 TSI 150hp, 1.6 TDI 115hp and 2.0 TDI 150hp. A manual gearbox or a 6- or 7-speed DSG automatic transmission will be available depending on the engine.
