ŠKODA Ireland has announced that the new ŠKODA Kodiaq RS will go on sale priced from €62,295.

The Kodiaq RS is the first SUV from ŠKODA to join the ‘Rally Sport’ family and first models are set to arrive in Ireland later in December ahead of the 191 registration period.

The ŠKODA Kodiaq RS will be powered by a new and exclusive 2.0TDI 240hp 4×4 DSG engine and gearbox combination, making it the most powerful production diesel engine in the history of the brand. The result is an SUV that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 221 km/h. Average fuel consumption according to the brand is 6.4 litres of diesel per 100 km.

The new performance SUV comes with five seats as standard, while a seven seat option is available for €1,000 extra.

Standard specification will include 20” alloy wheels, virtual cockpit display, interior ambient lighting, dynamic chassis control, new dynamic sound boost and progressive steering.

Bright red brake callipers are clearly visible through the wheels and this model also comes with increased 17” brakes on all wheels, compared to the standard 16” rear brakes on other Kodiaq models.

The ŠKODA Kodiaq RS also debuts the new RS logo that features red detailing and will be the first SUV from ŠKODA to offer the famous metallic Race Blue finish, synonymous with the Octavia RS.

Inside there is Alcantara® upholstery with contrasting red stitching, carbon decor on the instrument panel, black roof lining and stainless steel pedals. The programmable Virtual Cockpit is standard allowing drivers to choose between five different display settings including a new Sports View.

Cathal Kealey, PR Manager with ŠKODA Ireland: “No other competitor combines functionality, dynamism and performance in a 7-seat package like the Kodiaq RS. The Kodiaq RS has been an instant success since it launched in Ireland last year with demand often outstripping supply. Our customers will be delighted to hear that we will double our Kodiaq sales volume to 2,200 units next year thanks to increased production from ŠKODA AUTO. In addition to shorter lead times, the Kodiaq has also become more affordable with personal contract plans available from 2.9% APR. We expect to sell fifty Kodiaq RS models in 2019 with five enthusiasts having already ordered in advance of prices and specifications being announced.”
