Toyota Ireland has announced the arrival of the new Toyota Yaris Hybrid to dealerships nationwide. It will join the new generation Yaris petrol, already on sale.
The Yaris Hybrid will be available from €23,055 and uses a new generation of Toyota’s hybrid technology. It uses a 1.5-litre petrol electric hybrid powertrain to improve efficiency by 20% and put out even more power at 116 hp (total system output).
Toyota says it’s also quicker with a 15% improvement in 0-100 km/h acceleration, to 9.7 seconds, and sharper response to the driver’s use of accelerator.
CO2 emissions have dropped to 88 g/km and the WLTP combined cycle fuel economy figure is 3.9 l/100/km, a 20% improvement
It features the same design as the rest of the Yaris range, with a new interior with a soft-touch instrument panel to deliver a warmer cabin ambience.
The new Yaris is the first application of the Toyota New Global Architecture – TNGA – philosophy to a small car through the new GA-B platform. The GA-B platform is central to the Yaris’ improved dynamic performance, giving a lower centre of gravity and much greater body rigidity, along with lower noise and vibration levels.
It also benefits from a greater range of Toyota Safety Sense active systems as standard, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), such as Lane Trace Assist, Emergency Steering Assist and Intersection Turn Assistance. The functionality of the Pre-Collision System has been increased so that it can detect pedestrians by day and night, and cyclists in daytime driving.
Equipment such as LED headlamps, an 8” touchscreen display, Smart Entry and special ambient cabin lighting around the driver’s cockpit is also available. The steering wheel size has also been reduced for better visibility. There’s also wireless smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing users easy access to their favourite apps using the car’s central multimedia control screen.
