It marks the return of one of the world’s most famous electric cars and Nissan says it has set its sights on being the number one EV brand in Ireland.
To that end, pricing starts from an eye-catching €34,995 for the 2026 Nissan Leaf, which has turned into a trendy crossover for this generation.
There will be two battery options. The range kicks off with a 52kWh battery, with up to 440km range, while the 75kWh battery offers range up to 622km.
Both variants support DC fast-charging up to 105kW and 150kW respectively, for a 20-80% charge in about 30 minutes.
There are four different grades for the new Leaf. The 52kWh starts at €34,995 for the Engage, €36,495 for the Engage+, €39,795 for the Advance and €41,295 for the top of the range Evolve.
The 75kWh with up to 622km range starts at €39,995 for the Engage, €41,495 for the Engage+, €45,795 for the Advance and €48,295 for the Evolve.
The new Leaf slots into the Nissan line-up below the Ariya and will be joined in showrooms by the all-new electric Nissan Micra.
Its sleek design is said to optimise airflow to enhance both performance and range.
Other highlights include a new infotainment system with Google built-in, offering Google Maps with Route Planner, Google Assistant and Google Play, as well as a suite of advanced safety and driver assistance features.
